Why Choose DNA Miracles Vitamin C+D3 Chews?

Getting the right amounts of the right nutrients to help support children is essential to their growth. Especially if they are picky eaters and do not eat a balanced diet. Now, DNA Miracles features a new supplement with a blend of Vitamin C and Vitamin D3.

Vitamin C is widely known as a key immune system supporter. Because it is a water-soluble vitamin, the body does not store it well. Which makes it that much more important to intake daily. Conversely, data in recent studies shows that children aren't getting enough Vitamin D. As a result, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) increased the amount of vitamin D it recommends for children and adolescents to 600 IU; which is the amount provided by Vitamin C + D3 Chews.

As bone warriors, Vitamin C helps produce collagen (a protein found in bone tissue that promotes bone strength and elasticity) and Vitamin D3 helps the body metabolize Calcium so that bones can retain what they need. Together, Vitamins C and D3 also contribute in support of developing bodies in respect to the immune system, and healthy teeth and gums. DNA Miracles Vitamin C + D3 Chews supports children’s health and strength when it comes to the everyday rumble and tumble of being a kid.*

Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid): 120 mg
Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is an essential nutrient for humans and supports metabolic reactions in the body. Foods such as oranges, lemons, grapefruit, strawberries, tomatoes, brussel sprouts, peppers and cantaloupes are good sources of vitamin C. Vitamin C is known for its function as one of the key nutritional antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals. Vitamin C promotes the strength of cells and is an essential cofactor for the enzymes involved in the synthesis of collagen. Vitamin C is more commonly known for its roles in immune support, supporting normal healing, protecting against the effects of stress and promoting iron absorption. The antioxidant function of vitamin C is performed within the aqueous compartments of the blood and inside cells. Studies have shown that vitamin C protects plasma lipids from oxidation, and also protects DNA and protein from various oxidative processes. The body does not manufacture vitamin C on its own, nor does it store it. Therefore, vitamin C must be acquired through diet and supplementation.*

Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol): 15 mcg
Regular sunlight exposure is the main way that most humans get their vitamin D. Food sources of vitamin D are vitamin D-fortified milk (100 IU per cup), cod liver oil, and fatty fish such as salmon. Small amounts are found in egg yolks and liver. Vitamin D promotes the absorption of calcium and phosphorus and supports the production of several proteins involved in calcium absorption and storage. Vitamin D works with calcium to promote hard, strong bones. It works to promote active transport of calcium out of the osteoblasts into the extra-cellular fluid and in the kidneys, promotes calcium and phosphate uptake by renal tubules. Vitamin D also promotes the normal absorption of dietary calcium and phosphate uptake by the intestinal epithelium. It promotes normal, healthy growth and repair of tissues, and supports overall skin health.*

Zinc (Gluconate): 3 mg
Zinc, a trace mineral, functions as a part of 300 different enzymes in the human body. These enzymes promote normal nucleic acid and protein metabolism, the production of energy, as well as other things. It supports virtually all biochemical pathways and physiological processes. Physiologically, zinc supports normal growth and development, reproduction and sexual maturation, insulin storage and release, as well as other functions. Possibly its most popular claim is that zinc supports the immune system. Zinc is found in almost all body tissues, but about 60 percent of the body's zinc is stored in the muscles, and 30 percent in the bones. It has antioxidant activities. The antioxidant activity of zinc helps to protect membranes against oxidation by occupying sites that may otherwise contain redox active metals such as iron. Because zinc is involved in such a great number of enzymatic processes, it has been found to support a large range of functions, including energy production and cognitive function.*

Citrus Bioflavonoids Complex: 8 mg
Bioflavonoids are antioxidants found in certain plants that act as light filters, which protect the plant's DNA and other important macromolecules by absorbing ultraviolet radiation. They have been found to promote cardiovascular health and help maintain healthy circulation by strengthening capillaries, arteries, and veins. The ability for citrus bioflavonoids to maintain healthy circulation by strengthening capillaries, arteries, and veins is also beneficial for helping maintain brain health and supports the production of neurotransmitters in children.*
